Q: Why am I required to schedule a NEW PATIENT APPOINTMENT if I have had massages in the past elsewhere?
A: Best Back & Body is not your typical massage establishment. We understand that you may have had several massages in the past but never with us. The New Patient Session allows us time to go over your intake paperwork, discuss a plan and perform a thorough massage. As well as, go over post session instructions including self care.
Q: How sore should I be after a session?
A: Most patients report a good workout type of soreness for 2 -3 days after a session.
Q: Can I workout after a massage?
A: Yes, but you may notice that your muscles fatigue sooner than expected.
Q: How often should I be getting a massage?
A: At least once every three months. Typically, every 3 - 5 weeks depending on how active you are. If we are trying to catch up with an existing issue, then every 1 -2 weeks.
Q: How much water should I drink daily?
A: Half your body weight, changed from pounds to ounces. Example: 120 lbs. / 2 = 60 lbs. oz., a 120 lb. individual should drink a minimum of 60 oz. of water daily. Your water intake should increase with your activity level.
Q. Can I receive a massage after having an injection (Cortisone, Botox, etc.)?
A. Yes, however, the injection site CAN NOT be massaged for several days to weeks depending on substance that was injected. Please inform your Massage Therapist immediately of injection. You will also need to consult your Physician as to when massage therapy can be applied to the area and inform Massage Therapist of recommendation.
